151.000 tour

When entering the Boijmans van Beuningen Depot visitors encounter a large screen with numbers. These numbers refer to the artworks stored in the Depot. For example: 7000 glaze objects, 69.700 prents and 151.000 objects in total.

Questioning the importance of numbers in a museum, within a capitalistic society, the project 151.000 tour was developed as counter reaction using an over exaggeration of numbers related to the Depot and objects within the Depot. Visitors can borrow, in this case-study, a receipt printer and take it with them through the Depot. During the tour visitors are guided by receiving printed receipts with numbers.
